As a Fybromyalga and Osteoarthritis sufferer I feel it's a hidden illness and I wanted to portray that with the nude self-portrait. The body looks normal with the naked eye. I also wanted to acknowledge the nurturing inner part of me that has helped me get through the bad days (he's the one on the left) the caring unseen higher self. The picture was taken in a hostel in Zennor in Cornwall during a two day break away from it all, to try and get some sense of where I was going in life. The quote "I think, therefore I am" inspired the title "Proof of Life" because thinking took up most of the two days.
