"Fairyland of Pain"

"Fairyland of Pain" by Tara Shuey

Tamaqua, Pennsylvania

graphite, glitter gel and mirror shards

18 inches long x 24 inches wide

I drew this fairy when I was having a trigeminal nerve pain episode. Shooting and burning on the left side of my face. The tears and nerve roots buried into her cheeks. I feel that this piece describes me and my horrible pain best.
