Distance is safe, From it, your silence fills the gap like a lethal gas, A cold, broken, steep path we walk along, I keep looking back, as if to expect you to have vanished, The journey is far from over, I regret to say how long we've left to crawl out of this despair, Disappointment haunts the sunrises, Sadness fills these silent nights, Your secret glances lose their lust, Numbness lends itself to curiosity, So as to keep this soul entertained, Your touch, once craved, now makes weak bones quiver in fear, Guilt plagues my mind, For this once strong soul keeps slipping from my grasp, Impatiently waiting for the sunrise that awakes it's slumber.
