I think of my pain as a betrayal by my senses. In this painting, the body is a work of art [David] and it is an empty vessel. The body is a vessel for the spirit.
To go beyond the senses I go to a place in my mind that is empty and still, represented here by the desert. The mind goes beyond the body, quieting the pain. In this place of stillness my spirit is lifted up, represented by the rainbow light energy that travels upward through the doorway, "beyond the beyond."
When I think of the universe and a star, I think of them as one. In this meditation I become one with the universe. Pain is alleviated. To manage my pain throughout the day, I remember, "I am not the body."
